Student Leadership Awards

On Sunday, April 18, Wesley College’s most recognized faces came together to be acknowledged for their achievements throughout the school year. The Student Leadership Awards Brunch, held this year at the Duncan Center in Dover, is an annual event recognizing individual students and student organizations that exemplify strong leadership skills. “It is a way to highlight all the ways students have been engaged in our campus,” Mary-Alice Ozechoski, dean of students, said.

The celebration gave students a chance to take a break from their busy schedules and enjoy each other’s company. Along with their academic accomplishments, the students awarded serve as the voice of the entire student body and have made a huge impact in the campus community and beyond.

President of the Student Government Association Amberlyn Oldham is a prime example. She received the Dean of Students Service Award as well as Carpenter Hall Resident of the Year. “I think the Student Leadership Awards Brunch is a great event,” Oldham said. “It gives students an opportunity to see their peers recognized for all the hard work that they do."
