Contemporary Music Ensemble CD Release Party
The Music Department at Wesley College announced the release of its very first professional recording on compact disc. To celebrate this milestone, the Music Department hosted a CD release party on February 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Chapel. Refreshments were served and free copies of the recording were given out to all who attended.
This recording serves as documentation of the hard work and success of the students enrolled in the Contemporary Music Ensemble during the 2008 - 2009 academic year. After several performances and weeks of exhausting rehearsals, the recording was made in two marathon five hour sessions at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover.
Wesley College's Contemporary Music Ensemble is a one credit course that enables students to research and perform a wide variety of popular music including Rock & Roll, Jazz Standards, Blues, Reggae, Motown, and top 40 hits.
